I hate rotaries!

I have strongly felt this way before today, but today just proves how dumb the idea of a rotary is.  I was trying to get out of the mall and drive home since I was tired and my little girl was already asleep in her car seat.  I yielded at the entrance to the rotary, then it was my turn to drive into the stupid circle.  I was in the right of way just by driving around it when a mini van side swiped me.  What I don't get is that I was kinda in front of her when she hit me.  How did she not see me?  Did she not yield?  Don't get me started on the drivers here needing to go back to driving school to learn who has the right of way.

Anyway, this strong dislike for rotaries has been recent because in Texas they hardly exist.  I've lived in Massachusetts over a year now and all of the rotaries I've come across have all looked dangerous.  One was especially scary in Boston.  It just doesn't make sense, especially when there is so much congestion.  People literally have to be risky just to drive through it and get where they want to go because it's a free-for-all most of the time.

Ok, I'll step off my soap box now.  If only one small post by me could change the roads...and drivers.
